About the G35 Headset

Let’s get to know the headset for a bit first. The G35 is a gaming headset made by Logitech. In and of itself, it is a good gaming headset.

It has a rugged yet attractive construction, programmable buttons (we will talk about them shortly), handy mute button and volume control, USB interface, and a good microphone.

When it comes to comfort, the headset is quite comfortable to wear. You can adjust it to the size that you are comfortable with.

The earmuffs and headband are padded with vinyl-covered foam and there are also two additional headband pads.

Not a Simple Plug and Play Headset

While many gaming headsets are plug and play, meaning they can just be plugged into the PC and can be used immediately, things are a bit different with the Logitech G35 headset.

Rather than a simple plug and play headset, it uses Logitech G35 drivers that allows you to customize it to your liking.

Customizing the G35 Headset

What can you do with the software? Customizing the buttons, of course. See those three buttons on the left side of the headset?

These buttons are known as G1, G2, and G3. All can be customized. You can use the software to customize them to be used as

A. Start, pause, and stop

B. Skip forward, skip backward between chapters and tracks, etc.

C. Control a media player like Win Amp, Windows Media Player, iTunes, WinDVD 9.0, and Power DVD 8.0. In some cases, the buttons can even be set to launch a media player

These are not the only way you can customize the buttons. You can use the software to tweak the EQ settings, activate Screaming Bee (voice-altering software) and launch Ventrilo.

Also, while there are ‘only’ three buttons present, you can have limitless profiles. In other words, there is little to no limitation when it comes to customizing the buttons.
